Company Overview

Ice Cream Melts, LLC, a cutting edge publishing and production company specializing in “Human Element” projects within film and literature, was founded by Nnamdi G. Osuagwu in 2007.  The term “Human Element” stands for capturing the raw emotions and energy of the people and ICM is doing just that.

Osuagwu started the company in an effort to self-publish his first book, Ice Cream Melts, a book of poetry that cleverly dissects contemporary society through the perspectives of a mother, father, son, daughter, lover, professional and prisoner.

Following the August 2007 release of Ice Cream Melts, Osuagwu decided to make the book interactive by capturing the stories of everyday people. He hit the streets with a video camera and began filming dynamic interviews from the different folks he came across. He posted the footage on the company’s social networking website IceCreamMelts.com, and encouraged users to interact on the site by posting their own “Ice Cream Melts” story on the What's Your Ice Cream Melts Story? Blog.

“IceCreamMelts.com is a reflective, deep social awareness site,” says Osuagwu. “It’s an open invitation to people who want to share their own stories. I’ve received a lot of positive feedback from those who have experienced the site.”

In March 2008, Nathaniel Thomas was appointed chief creative officer and transformed the Ice Cream Melts website from statically to dynamically content driven through user interaction. The new version of the site, which was launched at the end of 2008, enables users to blog, video blog (vlog) and comment on existing posts.

In March 2009, Ice Cream Melts, LLC coined and trademarked the term eBookumentary™, which embeds video footage throughout electronic books, giving it a film documentary look and feel. ICM recently launched its first eBookumentary™ along with the printed version, A Souvenir for My Mom: First Hand Accounts from the 2009 U.S. Presidential Inauguration, by Osuagwu, based on the historic 2009 inauguration in Washington D.C.  Readers are encouraged to blog about their own inauguration experiences and read stories from other users on the What's Your Inauguration 2009 Story? Blog.
